NAME OF ACTIVITY: Daggers

GRADE LEVEL:  3-12

EQUIPMENT NEEDED:  None

HIGHLIGHTS: Balance, upper body strengthening, agility

INSTRUCTIONS: Pair-up players.  To begin, have players assume the starting position.  The starting position has each player holding the same hand (right to right) of their partner.  Hands are held is an arm wrestling fashion (grip each others thumb), then each player points their index finger (as shown).  Other hand should be behind you own back; not as shown, as the players sometimes get excited :)

     On the signal, each player attempts to touch the other player with their index finger (dagger), anywhere below the shoulder.  Each touch, returns the players to the start position and counts as 1 point.  play the best of three and then switch partners.

HELPFUL HINTS: Emphasize safety, body control and NO joint pain or body contact!  I use this as a station in some of my circuits or small space activities.
